This year, Agudin and Musique des Lumières will present a new version of Viktor Ullmann’s masterpiece. This recording aims to introduce some solutions to the editorial challenges that the Kaiser presents. The deep revision of the score, both in terms of libretto, movements-sequence and instrumehtation, was carefully carried by Lisandro Abadie, Pablo Kornfeld and Facundo Agudin – and they particularly wish to acknowledge the generous cooperation of the Sacher Foundation Basel. The new CD, to appear at Doron Music, introduces soloists Pierre-Yves Pruvot, Wassyl Slipak, Anna Wall, Sébastien Obrecht and Natalie Pérez. Agudin opens the 2016 Season of Argentina’s National Symphony and Chorus with two powerful concerts !
On 4 March he conducts Elgar’s Violin Concerto Op.61 with impressive Xavier Inchausti (also welcoming him as Second Concertmaster at the National Symphony!) and Max Reger’s “Four Tone Poems after Arnold Böcklin”. On 10 March he performs the London version of Johannes Brahms’ “Ein deutsches Requiem” together with soloists Carla Filipcic and Alejandro Meerapfel. Later in this season, Agudin will be conducting the National Symphony again with Hector Berlioz “Roméo et Juliette” at Buenos Aires’s new concert hall, and a national tour featuring Rimsky’s Scheherazade.
Musique des Lumières lance son premier Festival de Pâques, en collaboration avec la Ville de Delémont et le centre Culturel Régional.
Aucune autre fête ne réunit les valeurs oecuméniques qui sont présentes autour du mystère pascal : mort et résurrection, transformation de paramètres physiques et spirituels, mais aussi symbole de rassemblement, de partage, de mystère et de jeu !
La programmation est fortement diversifiée et s’adresse à tous les publics: elle accueille le François d’Assise de Robert Bouvier, propose des formules scolaires comme Pierre et le loupet l’Histoire du Soldat, crée la formule «A l’intérieur de l’orchestre!» en mettant en valeur la pianiste lauréate du Concours de Lausanne: Daria Korotkova. Le Festival de Pâques compte sur la présence d’artistes de renom comme Bénédicte Tauran, Anaïk Morel, Franco Farina et Rubén Amoretti pour un grand Requiem KV 626 de W.A.Mozart, en compagnie d’Espace Choral, Basel Tattoo Chor et les Choeurs du Collège de Delémont. La Passion selon Saint Jean, sous la direction de Philippe Krüttli vient clôturer ce nouveau rendez-vous du printemps culturel Suisse !
In 2014 and 2015, the Mariinsky Theatre invited Agudin to conduct performances of Charles Gounod’s Faust, in the sensitive production directed by Isabella Bywater, and featuring great soloists Mikhail Vekua, Alex Markov, Mischa Petrenko, Yuliya Matochkina, Ekaterina Goncharova, Irina Churilova and Sergei Aleksashkin.
